Dr. Edward Marcheschi MD

Biography

Dr. Edward Marcheschi is recognized as a physician leader and regards himself as both teacher and learner. He has cared for athletes from all ranks of sport from professional to amateur–both on the field and off the field.   He has introduced innovations to his practice of sports medicine in order to provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care that includes biologic treatments and sports ultrasound.  He has spearheaded the integration of biologics as a treatment option in orthopaedics here in Cincinnati, and he is the first elected Chair of the Mercy Health Biologic Orthopaedic Committee.

Dr. Marcheschi’s expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound includes diagnostic imaging and guided intervention. He has a specific interest in tendinopathy and he offers both ultrasound guided biologic and minimally invasive surgical treatment options for tendinopathy.

Sports concussion care that includes neuropsychological testing of the concussed athlete was immediately adopted by Dr. Marcheschi as he embarked on his professional career in sports medicine. He has pioneered the transition to evidence-based care of the concussed athletes here in Cincinnati.   Neuropsychological testing is now a standard component of the evaluation of the concussed athlete here in Cincinnati and internationally.

“Sports medicine fulfills my passion for sports and science”, says Dr. Marcheschi, and he intends to contribute to the research and innovation that will catapult the field of sports medicine into the future.
